Plant calls are mostly operational, but order and accounts calls include pricing and payment details. 3CTel configures recording, access and 9-1-1 settings with you for the office and every floor device.

  • The registered 9-1-1 service address is confirmed for each building, dock and outbuilding with a handset, and the gate intercom and paging extension are excluded from outbound emergency dialing unless you want them included.
  • Recording on the order line, if used, is retained for a period set with you and available to the customer-service manager and the roles you name; floor handsets are not recorded.
  • Recording is paused while a customer provides credit-card details for a COD order, and callers hear an announcement configured with you.

Can a cloud phone system work with overhead paging in a plant?

Yes. The existing paging amplifier connects through an analogue adapter and answers on an extension, so anyone dials a short code and speaks to the floor. Zones can be separate extensions if the amplifier supports them. Cordless handsets rated for noisy areas ring on supervisors’ extensions for calls that need a conversation rather than an announcement. Placement is planned during the walk-through.

How does the phone system follow a two-shift schedule?

Each published number gets its own weekly schedule. The order line follows office hours, shipping follows dock hours and the main number stays open until the last shift is covered, then rolls to a night message or the AI receptionist. Holiday shutdowns are entered once for the plant. A supervisor with the right permission can extend hours for an overtime Saturday from the app.

Do we have to replace the fax machine at shipping?

No. An analogue adapter keeps the existing machine working on its own number, and online fax runs alongside it so the office can send and receive as PDF by email. Some plants keep the machine at the dock for bills of lading and move everything else to online fax. 3CTel confirms the adapter and line during the site survey.
